Foundation
The "Crystal Industry Association" established by nine quartz crystal units manufacturing companies in those days, September 1948 (Showa 23), is a predecessor of this industry association.
By the rapid development of electronics industry, the application field of quartz crystal devices extended, and it expanded of a demand. In April 1979 (Showa 54), the industry association changed its name to "Quartz Crystal Industry Trade Association of Japan" expansively, and then after in May 1994 (Heisei 6), has come to "Quartz Crystal Industry Association of Japan" in the present.
By aiming a sound development of this industry in this term, the association has continued activity. And, it became inadequate for providing only with the production statistics of quartz crystal devices and just direct technologies, and important to plan wide range technology exchange including peripheral technology on quartz crystal devices. Therefore, it has collected participation of affiliated companies, such as a maintenance machine and material and other production equipment.
And, with the progress of standardization and internationalization, it also greatly developed, activity such as the standardization activity of JIS proposal and IEC standard proposal about quartz crystal devices.
